PURPOSE
1. This procedure should be followed to insure that AMPERIF CEs can test
the Disc Controllers DCIO, DCI1, and their cache using D13 only in a manner
that will prevent the corruption of user data. This procedure cannot be used
to test drives DIO, DII, and D12.

RESPONSIBILITIES
3. The DCOS Team Supervisor, in coordination with the Operations Control
Officer, is responsible for carrying out this procedure in support of the
AMPERIF CEs. Also, an operator must be on the console at all times while
AMPERIF is testing.
PROCESSING
4. The following steps must be taken:
A. Mount "AMPDRS" in any available drive in the DCE, DCF, DCG, or DCH
strings.
B. Place all drives in the READ-ONLY mode on the DCE, DCF, DCG, DCH, and
DCI strings except the drives containing "AMPDRS" and DI3 which should
be WRITE-ENABLED.
C. Perform a tape boot to "AMPDRS" using the latest M&A boot tape with
Jump Key 4 set on the STU. At modify configuration time key in:
DN,ALL DCEO
DN,ALL DCFO
DN,ALL DCGO
DN,ALL DCHO
DN DIO,DIl,DI2
THE SYSTEM WILL NOT ALLOW THE "AMPDRS" DRIVE TO BE DOWNED. Then,
enter the date and time.
D. Answer 'N' to the "INITIALIZE TIP" message. The system is now ready
to support AMPERIF testing. There are two files on the "AMPDRS" pack
that contain the AMPERIF CEs diagnostic routines: AMP*AMP and CED*AMP.

E. Following AMPERIF testing: stop the system, remove "AMPDRS", and
remove the READ-ONLY mode from all M&A drives. In addition to normal
configuration changes prior to entering the date and time, perform a
disk boot to the M&A DRS (DIO). At modify configuration time, key in
DN D13.
F. Continue booting the system according to normal procedures for a
recovery boot.
