SUBJECT: An Alternative to Recommendation "N"

REFERENCE: Your memo,

1. The reference indicates that the Security Staff,
Office of Development and Engineering, disagrees with recom-
mendation "N" which states that the practice of taking classi-
fied waste to Headquarters be discontinued, and that in place of
this method, Agency classified waste be transmitted for destruc-
tion to the Contracting Officer's Security Representative, in
accordance with the Two-Person Rule. (S)
2. As an alternative to recommendation "N", the following
recommendation is made:
It is recommended that the practice of dropping
off classified waste at Headquarters building be dis-
continued, and that in place of this method, Agency
classified waste be transmitted for destruction to
the Office of Development and Engineering Registry,

in accordance with the Two-Person
Rule. The ODE,E Registry shall :receipt for the
classified documents and shall transmit them to the
Headquarters building for destruction. (S)
