Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/06/19: CIA-RDP94-00798R000200330019-9 CONFIDENTIAL LOGNOTE -- Chief, Operations Group, 24 October 1983 called on 24 October to say the departure of 25X1 29 October combined with the continuing need for 24- 25X1 hour staffing to monitor the Grenada situation will require TDY monitorial help until the situation eases. After discussion with Acting Chief Prod and C/ELAAD it was decided to TDY to Key West o/a 28 October. Meanwhile we would try to move up the timing of TDY to Barbados to 26 October in view of cabled reports that a CariCom invasion of Grenada was imminent. To that end a message was sent to Bridgetown requesting approval for their earlier arrival. If they could eliminate the AC hum on the Barbados telephone lines we might be able to set up a remote monitoring effort piping Grenada and other sources to Key West. could t hen hop from Key West to Barbados to help. Bridgetown replied that in view of heavy TDY traffic there they would prefer to put the TDY on ho ld until the 25X1 situation improves. confirmed KW still need s monitorial and 25X1 teletype help. wi ll process for 25X1 departure for KW ASAP, but no later than 28 October.
