The Commission on the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution
has issued this special inaugural catalogue for all who desire gifts and memen-
tos in remembrance of this historic occasion?our 51st Presidential Inaugural,
beginning the third century of the United States of America. These featured
items reflect the focus on peace, prosperity and independence, themes appro-
priately chosen by George Herbert Walker Bush for his inauguration as the
41st President. These officially licensed products are authorized by Public Law
98-101 to display the Commission logo. All Commission income generated
through this catalogue supports educational programs and activities. The
work of the Commission continues through the five-year commemoration of
the writing, signing, and adoption of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and
subsequent amendments.

Lenox Bicentennial Inaugural Plate and Box
Lenox celebrates two hundred years of the Ameri-
can presidency with. two exceptional keepsakes.
The ivory fine china Lenox Bicentennial Inaugural
Plate is decorated with a federal blue border
banded in 24-karat gold, enhanced by fifty 29-karat
gold stars. The Lenox Bicentennial Inaugural Box
has an ivory fine china lid and base with a rich
blue border, of thirteen 24-karat gold stars repre-
senting the original colonies. The Great Seal of
the United States appears in gold on each piece,
with a back stamp commemorating the Fifty-first
Presidential Inauguration. The individually gift-
boxed Lenox Bicentennial Inaugural Plate and Box
are a fitting tribute to the spirit of the American
presidency.

into the possession of the Smithsonian Institution
sometime after 1843 and has been reproduced by
