Castro added that in 1962 Bloc purchases will be above the world market price. The Copper Department of the Chilean Mining Industry recently authorized the sale to the USSR of 60, 000 tons of copper annually during the period 1962-66. The recent deterioration in Afghan-Pakistan relations has seriously disrupted the trade of Afghanistan with its trading partners in the Free World and also has created an opportunity for the USSR to alleviate Afghanistan's current trade difficulties and to demonstrate again its sup- port of Afghanistan in the Pushtunistan dispute with Pakistan. A Soviet-Moroccan arms agreement reportedly has been concluded. Negotiations for Moroccan purchase of Soviet arms presumably were conducted in November 1960 by the Moroccan military mission to Moscow. An economic and technical assistance agreement between Mali and Communist China has been signed in Peiping. Recently arrived Bloc artillery and other military equipment were displayed in Mali's Inde- pendence Day parade on 22 September. In mid-September, Soviet Vice-Admiral Chernopay arrived in Indonesia to establish a technical and training mission that will total 300 men. The Soviet specialists will assist all three Indonesian mili=? tary services.
