Paul E. Bloom
Educations He received his A.B. degree. in Foreign Service frOM the
George Washington University and has done graduate work
at that university and the University of Texas.
Experience: His early practical, transportation experience was ob-
tained with the Duluth, Mesabi and Iron Range Railway,
1935-1941. He entered Government service in 1935 and
-served as Foreign Land Transportation Specialist with
the Transportation Division, Bureau of Foreign and
Domestic Commerce, DeptErtment. of Commerce until 19141
when he was requested to become Sehior Rate Analyst ?11U2
The Civil Aeronautics Board.
For four Tsar years he served as an intelligence officer
with the USAF. During this time he prepared basic studies
on the vulnerability of the European Axis through air
attack on transportation and other industries and served
as a member of the Joint Intelligencp Staff of the Joint
Intelligence Committee, as a member of the Flans and
Policy Staff of the Directorate of Intelligence, USAF,
and as intalligenee officer of the Armed Forces Division,
ONGUS.
After release from military service he returned to the
Civil Aeronautics Board as Transportatior Analyst and
STAT held that position until November 1918.
STAT he
accepted his present position, Chief of the Transporter
tion Section, Target Research Branch, Air Targets Divi
stony D/I USAF/SI, in September 1949.
Nr. Bloom is the author of numerous studies and articles
on foreign transportation problems. He holds .the grade
of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Air Force Reserve.
