1. SIGNIFICANCE: THE PRESENCE OF AIR WARNING (AW) RADAR EQUIPMENT
IS CONFIRMED AT THIS POSSIBLE RADAR SITE. (SWN)
2. REMARKS: ONE BAR LOCK ACQUISITION RADAR AND TWO HEIGHT-FINDER
RADAR (POSSIBLY SIDE NET) ARE OPERATIONALLY DEPLOYED HERE.
DEFENDING THE SITE IS AN OCCUPIED THREE-POSITION LIGHT
ANTIAIRCRAFT ARTILLERY SITE. THE PRESENCE OF THIS AW RADAR
SITE IN THE MOUNTAINS AT APPROXIMATELY 900 METERS (2900 FEET)
ELEVATION SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASES THE AIR DEFENSES OF MANAGUA
AND THE CENTRAL PACIFIC COASTAL AREAS OF NICARAGUA. (SWN)
