HAS BEEN PLACED ON THE HULL OF THE SUBMARINE. THE PLACEMENT OF
THE SHED IS UNUSUAL IN THAT IT IS EXTREMELY AFT OF WHERE
REACTOR WORKSHEDS ARE NORMALLY SEEN. THIS SMALL SUBMARINE IS
PROBABLY THE ONE CONSTRUCTED AT LENINGRAD SHIPYARD SUDOMEKH 196
AND TRANSPORTED TO SEVERODVINSK IN THE 25X1
CANVAS-COVERED ALPHA_ASSOCIATED TRANSPORTER DOCK (YRD). DURING
ITS FITTING-OUT PERIOD AT LENINGRAD, THIS SUBMARINE WAS MOORED
ALONGSIDE A NUCLEAR SUPPORT BARGE. THE FACT THAT IT IS NOW
TIED UP OUTBOARD OF ANOTHER NUCLEAR SUPPORT BARGE STRONGLY
SUGGESTS THAT IT IS NUCLEAR POWERED. (SWN)
