I suggest we meet at 1330 in the DDA Conference Approved For Release 2004/08/19 : CIA-RDP91 M00696R000900120004-1 Approved ForSease 2004/08/19 : CIA-RDP91 M00691000900120004-1 The Central Intelligence Agency (B) All duties and responsibilities of the Central Intelligence Agency shall be related to foreign intelligence or foreign counterintelligence [or covert action?].. (1) As authorized by the National Security Act of 1947 and the CIA of 1949, and in accordance with the provisions of Section V of this order, the Central Intelligence Agency shall: (a) Produce national foreign intelligence, including foreign military, political, scientific and economic intelligence, under guidelines set by the Director of Central Intelligence. (b) Collect foreign intelligence of all sorts not otherwise available. (c) Conduct foreign counter-intelligence. (d) Carry out operations in support of national foreign policy objectives, as directed by the National Security Council and within the limits of applicable legislation. These shall include monitoring of foreign radio and television broadcasts and foreign press services, exploitation of foreign publications requiring translation, imagery interpretation, and the exploitation of foreign defectors. (f) Conduct such support activities as may be necessary to accomplish paragraphs (a)-(e) above.
