Factbook"
1. Attached is a copy of Counterintelligence Staff
Study No. 16, entitled "Foreign Intelligence and Security
Services Factbook." This study is intended to be a basic
reference work on foreign intelligence and security ser-
vices worldwide. It contains entries on over 600 services
arranged alphabetically by country. The information on
each page is arranged in outline form and keyed to various
headings. Where enough information is available, charts
have been prepared on the organizational breakdown of the
service to show the chain of command. These charts are
color coded to indicate the general area in which the
service is based.
2. This study is not intended to be a comprehensive
work, but rather to provide brief, up-to-date summaries
on foreign intelligence and security services. The
loose-leaf notebook format is designed to facilitate
updating of individual entries. All recipients will be
provided corrected and updated pages periodically.
