The Director of Central Intelligence
Washington, D.C. 20505
Robert C. Kingston
Lieutenant General, USA
Commander-in-Chief
U. S. Central Command
MacDill Air Force Base, Florida 33608
Dear General Kingston:
and I want to sincerely thank you and the 25X1
people of your Command for making our visit so profitable. The
motivation and dedication you have instilled is very obvious;
coupled with a mission of such significance, CENTCOM has indeed
become an exciting and rewarding place to work.
The work in my office to broaden the understandings of
warning and to facilitate the provision of truly early warning is
so very relevant to your requirements that we both ended up
getting recharged and rededicated. We are also most pleased that
the briefing to your intelligence personnel was so well
received. We must continue to test our hypotheses to ensure that
they are valid and relevant. We will also continue to work on
providing your Command, as well as other field activities with
pertinent training materials as they are developed. We have a
major effort in conjunction with DIA and NSA to build courses and
video tapes which will be responsive to your requirements.
Special thanks are due Gen. Gordon for his generous use of
his time with us. Due to his efforts, CENTCOM will be in our
minds when we address support to our'military commands. Lt.
Commander Ned Tyree was also superb in his support to us.
We discussed the possibility of a CENTCOM briefing team
coming to Washington to tell the CENTCOM tasking story to other
National Intelligence Officers. We will try to work that in
early 1984 when Lt. Commander Tyree arrives in our Headquarters.
If there is ever anything we can do from our position here
in Washington, please don't hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
Approved For Release 2008/04/21: CIA-RDP91 B00776R000100060013-1
