OIT Cost Estimates

1. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has prepared the following
cost estimates for the three building/space/move scenarios as requested by
your Agency Task Force on 28 September in preparation for the Executive
Committee briefing on 3 October.
2. Attachment A explains all the building/space/move_scenarios that were
requested to be used in establishing the various costs. (These scenarios have
been formalized as described below.) Attachment B summarizes the OIT services
and a description of the items necessary to provide the services that will be
required in each building and/or scenario. Attachment C addresses the
assumptions made in deriving the costs, and also assumed CIA costs that will
be the responsibility of other Agency components.
3. Note that all OIT cost estimates are in 1989 dollars and must be
adjusted for inflation and changing requirements that historically have
occurred as program implementation occurs over several fiscal years.

4. The scenario evaluations defined above were made with cost estimates
to determine the nost economical And feasible approach using available data
The cost elements are not currently in any budgets and are provided only as a
tool to assist the management team. It is paramount that each cost element be
considered in concert with other data elements, including information
contained in the attachments.
