To recommend initiatives and introduce new thinking on ways to provide early warning of significant S&T developments. 2.. Its mission is to develop and maintain a unified intelligence community approach. to the production of foreign intelligence on developing SE;T areas i.n support of national and mult:idepartmental oh j Oct Ives . The S'I 1(: advises US f B on St" ;T matters within its areas of concern. The STIC, in support of USIB, will also review, stimulate, guide and coordinate collection activities and infor- mation processing in response to resourse management objectives in this area. The STIC also provides a mechanism for the timely exchange of SE,T information for intelligence purposes related to national securi.ty.
