SUBJECT: Redistribute PBX Circuits for Classified AFS
1. FBIS requests that OIT/CED redistribute some of the PBX
circuits planned for the Classified AFS. The purpose is to more
evenly support each office area with a minimum of two terminal
servers.
2. Configuration charts, provided by CONTEL through OIT/CED,
show some offices are routed predominantly to one terminal server.
This raises concerns over the impact to an office during a server
outage.
3. One of the more significant examples is office area
An outage of server 0 disables seventy percent of the thirty-seven
users. An outage of server 2 disables not only the six local
printers, but also eight of the remaining nine printers
4. The attachment identifies office areas, including the above
referenced area which need circuits redistributed to ensure
adequate service in the event of a terminal server outage.
