Experiments of oxidation tit vaseline oil and solar oil in
the presence of various catalysts are compared with
several non-catalytic experiments. Lead brought about
a more vigorous oxidation than iron or zinc at temper-
atures above 250P. Solar oil is much more stable
toward oxidation ttan vasetine oil and this Is explained
by the presence in the former of resinous substances
