NGIVA AIRFIELD, ANGOLA
1. (S/D) SIGNIFICANCE: THIS IS THE LARGEST SINGLE DEPLOYMENT
OF SOUTH AFRICAN HELICOPTERS OBSERVED IN ANGOLA.
2. (S/D) REMARKS: SOUTH AFRICAN HELICOPTERS DEPLOYED AT
NGIVA A RFIELD INCLUDE SIX PUMA AND FOUR
ALLOUETTE III. ONE KUDU LIGHT OBSERVATION AIRCRAFT IS ALSO
PRESENT.
(S/D) NGIVA AIRFIELD, APPROXIMATELY 20 NM NORTH OF THE
ANGOLAN/NAMIBIAN BORDER, IS CURRENTLY BEING USED IN SUPPORT
OF A SOUTH AFRICAN GROUND AND AIR INCURSION INTO SOUTHERN
ANGOLA'S CUNENE PROVINCE.
