Walt Barrows will attend a coordinating committee meeting of the
President's Initiative to End Hunger in Africa. (NIO/Africa)
Bill Kotapish has formed a DCI Counternarcotics Intelligence Review
Committee which will examine the Agency's current program and make
recommendations by 15 July. (NIO for Counternarcotics)
Larry Gershwin met with Director Fletcher, of the National Aeronautics and
Space Administration (NASA), on his interests in the draft NIE: Soviet S ace
Pro rams. -Fletcher expressed interest in developing a 3oint brie Ong wit
hat would be a follow-on to last year's briefing to the President and
National Security Council on a comparison of the US and Soviet civil space

Estimates and Intelligence Memoranda
The fluid military situation in northern Somalia that caused President Siad
to postpone visiting Washington dictates some revision of the content and
scheduling of Somalia: Prospects for Stability and US Interests. (NIO/Africa)
