In reference to my recent discussion with you, the AFCEA Intelligence Committee,
which is jointly sponsoring the November Intelligence Symposium with DIA, truly
appreciates General Heinz's willingness to assist us by providing a presentation. General
Heinz will be receiving a letter of thanks from General Wickham, AFCEA's President.
This year's symposium is entitled, "Intelligence and the Commander: Requirements,
Productivity and Technology in the 1990's." As a member of the Intelligence Committee, I
have been given the responsibility for pulling together the Symposium's third session.
That session, which we have entitled, "National Foreign Intelligence Program Support to
the Commander, "is scheduled for the afternoon of the second day. All presentations will
be given in the DIAC. The clearance level is Secret. Enclosed you will find a copy of the
tentative overall symposium schedule which includes my current version of Session 3. As
you will see, I have taken the liberty of providing a general synopsis of the General's
presentation. Please don't feel bound by that description. If you, or the General, have
other ideas, I'd be more than happy to discuss them with you. I would ask that we be
provided with a copy of the presentation, including vu-graphs, one month before the
scheduled presentation.
To date, we have over 400 people who have requested reservations. Maximum
attendance is around 350. With the absence of a DITFOR this year, we expect this event to
draw maximum attendance and interest throughout the community.
Again, we appreciate the General's participation and look forward to working with
both him and you. Should either of you have any further questions, please feel free to call
me either at home or in the office (703 556-7296).
Sincerely,
ifr /
