SUBJECT: Future NFIB Meetings

1. The Board's next meeting has been scheaulea for 17 November 1988 at
1500 hours. The tentative agenda includes:
--NATO's European Pillar (NIE 20-88);
--Soviet Policy During the Next Phase of Arms Control in Europe
(NIL 11-16-88); and
--The Soviet Economy: New Challenges Ahead (NIE 11-23-88).
2. Coordination of the first Estimate by the principals' representatives
has been completed, and the draft will be forwarded to you under separate
cover imminently. Representatives' coordination of the other two Estimates is
just getting unaer way. These latter two papers will be sent to you as soon
as they become available.
3. A subsequent meeting of the Board has been tentatively scheduled for
1 December 1988 at 1500. The agenda item for the meeting would be Soviet
Forces and Capabilities for Strategic Nuclear Conflict Through the ETE?T990s
(NIE 11-3/8-88).
4. The Secretariat would be pleased to learn if any of th
have additional matters to raise at either of these meetings.
