Our Meeting with the SSCI "Senior Staff"
The Senior Staff includes Sven Holmes; Jim Dykstra; Keith
Hall, the budget director; Dave Holliday, Special Assistant to
the Chairman and possibly the next Staff Director; and Britt
Snider, the minority counsel and drafter of the Cohen-Boren
Bill. Some or all of them attend the Monday afternoon meeting.
We do not have any major new business to discuss. Some
suggested items are:
--If Sven is there, you should express concern over
health of father-in-law who was hospitalized while
Sven was in Pakistan.
--Holliday, and others SSCI staffers, just returned
from a trip to North Africa and the Middle East.
--You should request details of what the Committee
expects from 27 January Nicaragua update.

hearings. I can handle.
might wish to update Committee on DCI's letter
to members on statutory IG issue. Sven had suggested
that the DCI write to each Member prior to the 1400
Committee meeting on 27 January to decide the issue.
The letters are to be delivered via the designees to
ensure timely receipt.
