We want to thank you for the testimony of Mr. Robert
Gates, DDCI, at our February 18 hearing on the INF Treaty.
The wide-ranging and substantive discussion, to which he
contributed greatly, was a fine addition to our consideration
of Soviet incentives and disincentives to comply with the INF
Treaty.
As indicated at the hearing, the Committee has a few
additional questions that we would appreciate CIA answering
for the record. We request that you submit your answers to
the enclosed questions by 7 March. If you or your staff have
