On behalf of the Very Reverend Luke Rigby, O.S.B., Prior of St. Louis
Priory, Father Laurence Kriegshauser has invited you to address the members of
the Board of Directors of the Priory at their annual meeting on Thursday,
8 December at 6:00 p.m. The suggested format is about 30 minutes of remarks
and the audience would be approximately 100 members of the Board of Directors,
monks, friends and advisors of the school.
With several major speaking commitments already on your schedule for fall
including the Council on,Foreign Relations in Washington on 12 December, I
recommend that you decline this invitation and have attached a letter of
regret for your signature. However, knowing your interest in St. Louis and
noting that Walter Clark discussed this invitation with Peggy, I have also
attached a letter of acceptance in case you have a special reason for wanting
to speak to this group.

I write op behalf of our Prior, Very Reverend Luke Rigby, O.S.B., who
is away in Rome for a Benedictine conference.
Walter Clark talked with about the possibility of your
speaking to the members of the Board of Directors of the Saint Louis Priory at
their annual meeting on Thursday, December 8, beginning at 6 p.m. This is a
gathering of about one hundred members of the Priory family.
Enclosed is a list of our Board members, some of whom you will know,
and some background information on the Priory for your perusal. For your
guidance, we would suggest that you talk for about thirty minutes; we will leave
the subject matter to you but we will make some suggestions if you wish.
We would be honored with your presence and grateful if you could take
the time to speak to us at this meeting of our closest friends and advisors.
One of our monks, Father Timothy, the founding headmaster of our school, tells
me he remembers you very well from college guidance days and particularly hopes
you will be able to come to Priory.
