The Honorable William H. Webster
Director, Central Intelligence Agency
Washington, D.C. 20505
It is my privilege to cordially invite you to
address the 98th Annual Congress of the National Society
of the Sons of the American Revolution on Tuesday
evening, July 5, 1988 at the Sheraton Premiere Hotel at
Tyson's Corner, Virginia. Last year at our Congress in
Philadelphia, 625 SAR members and wives from almost
every state in the Union attended the Banquet.
If you are able to accept our invitation, your
address may be on any subject you choose. Support and
respect for our United States Constitution and our
constitutional republic have been among the most
important objectives of our Society since it was
formed. Your presence at our Congress during our
Society's continuing celebration of -the Bicentennial of
the Constitution would be an historic occasion for-us.
If you accept our invitation, we would also like
your permission to publish your talk, or a summary, and
photos of you taken at our Banquet, in the Summer Issue
of the SAR ifagazine which goes to all of our 25,000
members both in the United States and abroad.
I enclose a copy of our Charter granted by
Congress in 1906 setting forth-the objectives of our
Society which have not varied since that time.
I hope you will find it possible to accept our
invitation. I believe both you and our Society will
find it to be a most rewarding occasion.
