COMMITTEE ON SMALL BUSINESS Each summer I have an extraordinary group of college students, mainly from Oklahoma, serve as interns in my office. This summer I will have twenty, in two shifts of ten each. They t~rere selected from among over four hundred applicants. These interns are assigned substantive staff work and research projects for me. In addition, I have six or eight sessions with outstanding ;nests and my interns and the interns from the other Oklahoma Congressional offices. The group usually numbers about tizirty. I moderate these group discussions myself. They last from thirty minutes to one hour depending upon the time constraints on our guests. The discussions, held in my office, are informal with half the time given over to questions and answers and are off the record. ? hope that you will consider joining us and sharing your insights with these gifted students. STte have had very distinguished group of guests in the past and-they have all told me that they enjoyed the.e~~xperience as much as the .students. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them myself and have learned a great deal in the process. Our interns will be in ~,Tashington from r~9ay 31 to August 5. A member of my staff will be calling your secretary soon to see- if it might be possible for you to set a date with us. i hope that you can come. Sincerely, D ~~~!d~!
