4 December 1987
MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director for Administration
FROM: Edward J. Maloney
Director of Information Technology
SUBJECT: Weekly Report for Week Ending 4 December 1987
1. In an effort to upgrade secure communications equipment
between Headquarters and the White House, OIT has deactivated an
antiquated KY-3 system and transitioned to a secure data and voice
system, the CY-104. The transition to the CY-104 will afford OIT
the opportunity to upgrade other secure data and voice
communications services between Headquarters and the White House.
Continuing our efforts to upgrade communications between Agency
facilities, we have activated a new Link-1 circuit connecting the
25X1 Headquarters and The Link-1 Network
automates the management of data and voice communications between
Agency buildings. The upgrade is accomplished by replacing
obsolete circuits with new equipment that contains the HP-900
25X1 Network Management System.
