Communications services are the cornerstone of OIT activities, providing the means for vital intelligence information to reach OIT customers in all of the directorates. Data processing and related services are essential to the integration and evaluation of this information, and to the production of finished intelligence for the President, the Congress, and the broader nat-iona.l_ security community. The goal of OIT is to help its customers to succeed in their work. To this end, OIT staffs and manages the activities and facilities required to provide its customers modern and stable information services, while constantly seeking better ways to satisfy customer requirements. OIT will ensure that the information systems in the Agency meet common standards, and will coordinate requirements and procurements for information services for the Agency. OIT will promote the transfer of technology developed in one part of the Agency to other Agency and Community organizations and, as the leader in information technology in the Agency, also will promote the introduction of new and enhanced communications and ADP technologies. These technologies will ensure that OIT customers have the finest information systems support available in order to meet their vital national security responsibilities.
