OIT's mission is to provide reliable, secure and easy to
use domestic communications and data processing services to
support collection, analysis, and finished intelligence
production for the Central Intelligence Agency and the Intelli-
gence Community. Communications services are the cornerstone
of OIT activities, providing the means for vital intelligence
information to reach OIT customers in all of the directorates.
Data processing and related services are essential to the
integration and evaluation of this information, and to the
production of finished intelligence for the President, the
Congress, and the broader nat-iona.l_ security community.
The goal of OIT is to help its customers to succeed in
their work. To this end, OIT staffs and manages the activities
and facilities required to provide its customers modern and
stable information services, while constantly seeking better
ways to satisfy customer requirements.
OIT will ensure that the information systems in the Agency
meet common standards, and will coordinate requirements and
procurements for information services for the Agency. OIT will
promote the transfer of technology developed in one part of the
Agency to other Agency and Community organizations and, as the
leader in information technology in the Agency, also will
promote the introduction of new and enhanced communications and
ADP technologies. These technologies will ensure that OIT
customers have the finest information systems support available
in order to meet their vital national security responsibilities.
