SUBJECT: Status of Senate Omnibus Anti-Drug Legislation
1. It appears that Senate Republicans will introduce their
omnibus, anti-drug bill on Wednesday, September 17th. It will
contain the Administration proposal as its Title I, but it will
not contain any "drug czar" provision.
2. Attached is a copy of the Department of State views
letter on the general subject of "drug czar" legislation which
was mentioned previously.
