MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: SSCI Staffer Green's Query re Warning meetings
1. SSCI Staffer Ann Green (research assistant on Latin
America) today unofficially and informally asked NIO (for
Latin America) Bob Vickers whether it would be
feasible/possible for her to attend the monthly Warning
Meetings on Latin America. She theorized that it would be
helpful in her SSCI responsibilities. (Mrs. Green had
attended these sessions in the past when employed by the
Navy.) Vickers referred the matter to OCA, commenting that
although he personally would not mind, others might have
objections.
2_ The request was discussed with Acting DD/OCA (Senate)
who conferred with others and authorized me to
inform Mrs. Green that it would be better not to advance the
request officially as it was unlikely to be approved. This
was done; Mrs. Green accepted the suggestion gracefully and
stated that she will not pursue the matter further. NIO
Vickers was so informed.
