SUBJECT: White House Request to Contact About 20 Waivering
Members
1. The White House (Deputy Assistant to the President for
House Affairs) asked us to make an effort to contact around 20
waivering Members immediately. We are asked to inquire whether
they want any more information and, if so, offer to visit their
offices to provide it. Since none of these Members are on
Oversight Committees, we should offer intelligence briefings
with ops thrown in in a general way if requested.
2. Bob Vickers and I have each taken five names off the
list. Could you handle the five listed below. All the calls
should be made today if the White House is to be believed.
