Dear Mr. Secretary: I wish to amend my letter to you dated November 27. The new dates for my trip to Central America are January 14-18. Again, I am requesting that Colonel Dick Reynard be my military escort officer for this trip. My earlier requests for a dedicated military aircraft and briefings, etc., still stand. I have attached a copy of my November 27 letter for your information. Please convey my appreciation to Dr. Fred Ikie for making Dr. Michael Pillsbury available for this trip. Although I had planned on traveling to the Middle East in early January, I have decided to postpone that trip until a later date in 1985. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Orrin G. In Panama, we are requesting that General Gorman brief us on Southcom. In Guatemala, we request that our control officer be Colonel Rodriguez. At the other stops, we request that our control officer be either the defense attache or the military group commanders.
