MEMORANDUM FOR: Chairman, National Intelligence Council

SUBJECT . DCI Interest in the Status of NSSD 1-82
1. This note is just a short reminder of the Director's interest in
staying abreast of the evolving NSSD 1-82. He mentioned a couple of times
before his departure last week that he wants to have a set of all the paper
produced relative to the study upon his return.
2. I realize that pieces of this study continue to dribble in, parti-
cularly those in Part III. I suggest that you pull together all of the
relevant parts and explain to the Director in a covering memo where each
part stands. We will need this, in any case, for the NSC meeting scheduled
for 14 or 15 April.
3. The Director is scheduled to be back in the building on the morning
of the 14th. I request, therefore, the above material by COB 13 April. I
will let you know if there is any change in the Director's schedule.
