He served with the Office'of.Strate-
gic Services (OSS) in Europe. during
World War II and later worked for
the old Central Intelligence Group be-
fore leaving the government in 1947.
Dr. Tgenney taught French at Wes-
leyan:..;University? in Middletown,
Conn.,-before returning--to Washing
ton and joining the CIA in 1951.
His wife,' the former Alice Kuni-
holm; died' in 1970. Survivors include
two sons, Andrew J. and. Thomas W.,
both of Arlington; two brothers, Ash- I
ton,. of Nyack, N.Y., and Baxter, of
Gardner; Mass.; a sister,,.Mary An-
thony'of 'San -Diego, Calif., and two.
grandchildren.
