death from starvation
and disease.

don bank account for
him.
El Tayeb denies the
charges, but four of his
officers - all were
granted immunity - are
testifying against him.
The trial, which began
Saturday, Is being held
under strict security be-
cause officials tear "for-
eign influences" may try
to disrupt It or even at-
tempt to free el Tayeb.
Israeli Prime Minister
Shimon Peres last week
told President Reagan in
Washington that he was
grateful for U.S. help in
the rescue mission.
Peres said Reagan "got
tears in his eyes" when
he was told that many of
those rescued were in
poor health and on the
brink of death when they
arrived in Israel.
