To promote the national security by providing for a National
Security Organization, which shall be administered by a
Secretary of National Security, and for a Department of
the Army, a Department of the Navy, and a Department
of the Air Force within the National Security Organization,
and for the coordination of the activities of the National
Security Organization with other departments and agencies
of the. Government. concerned with the national security.

3 SHORT TITLE
4 That, this Act may be cited as the "National Security
5 Act of 1947".
