Notwithstanding the provisions of section 652 of tiis title,,
the Secretary of War may remove from the classified civil service
of the United States any employee of the Military Estab:tishnent
forthwith upon a finding that such person has been guilty off'
conduct inimical to the public interest in the defense t)rograrrt
of the United States and upon the giving of notice to s-o-ch pees on
of such charges: Provided, That within thirty days arter such
removal such person shall have an opportunity personally to
answer such charges in writing and to submit affidavits in sutmTaort
