On 9 December, representatives of the Analysis Division, EAG, briefed SEO on the AD program and the STARS and SASS computer systems. The briefing took place at Key building and was attended by about 20 members of the SEO Staff. On 6 December, a DSB officer provided security support 25X1 to Director/Office of Global Issues/DDI, during his appearance before the Senate Select Committee on Narcotics Abuse and Drugs. 4. On 1 December, DC/HSD and C/OSDO met with Computer Science Corporation (CSC) personnel on the status of the enhancements of the PASS System. They have been divided into three phases with the first to be in effect on 31 December and the third by 1 June 1989. The software is currently being treated and should be ready for the first phase target date of 31 December. On 9 December a briefing was held to demonstrate the system menus and other technical aspects. The contractor is confident of meeting their 31 December deadline for phase one implementation. 5. Some of the issues affect ORD's imple- mentation of an office-wide Macintosh Network. C/ISG discussed ORD's research and development efforts in support of joint ISG/ORD projects. 7. On 9 December 1988, CSC demonstrated the various menus that the Access Control clerks will be utilizing new PASS Information Management System for various visitor preregistration tasks. The demonstration was attended by C/OSDO, PASS Program Manager and the Access Control clerks... ? Four Wang model 280-T PC's were delivered to HSD and are currently in the process of being installed. One PC will be installed at the escort trailer for use with the Special Escort Payroll System. The remaining three PC's will be installed in various HSD support branches, two in the support branch and one in SPS branch. These three will eventually be connected to the Agency's mainframe system. ? Twenty-three Independent Contractor candidates were interviewed for positions as escorts by the Escort Section. All were recommended for continued processing. Planned Activities: ? The reception area in the New Headquarters Building fourth floor entrance is now ready for occupancy. During the next two months Chief Reception Staff will be conducting a survey of visitors to that entrance. It is anticipated that the volume should reach a level sufficient to require a receptionist to man that area by the latter part of January 1989. ? Meetings continue to be held with Engineering Division representatives and contractors working on the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Automated Badge Management System. PASS related difficulties have arisen with some badges created for the Receptionist Section in 1987, and discussions are being held with.
