1. This memorandum is for information only.
2. The activities of the Office of Security (OS) during
the week of 23-29 August were highlighted by the following
items:
*a. Representatives of the Office of Security met with
Mr. Paul Joyal, Director of Security for the Senate Select
Committee on Intelligence, to discuss a host of physical
and technical security issues. During this session,
Mr. Joyal was briefed on state-of-the art physical and
technical security systems that are currently being

*d. During the week of 29 August, the Office of
25X1 Security exceeded the plateau for the number of
security awareness briefings given to staff and industrial
25X1 contractor personnel during FY87.
e. The Office of Security has implemented a priority
case processing program designed to reduce the time in
which OD&E contractor personnel are held in a nonproductive
status pending successful completion of their background
investigations. This program is designed to allow for the
completion of these cases within 45 days. It is estimated
that some 20 percent of all OD&E contractor cases fall into
this category, hence the tan ible savings to the Agency
25X1 should be substantial.
f. The Office of Security has completed the second
phase of a three-part security training program given to
Agency contractor security officers. The second phase of
the training dealt with the issue of personal computer
security. The goal of this newly developed program is to
make the contractor community better informed on the issues
,25X1 of computer security.

i. The Office of Security has successfully completed
the repair of the Headquarters Main Gate vehicle barriers.
Excellent cooperation was received from the Agency
employees and contractor personnel who had to adjust to
25X1 temporarily revised traffic patterns.
