Dear Mr. Holmes:

As the evaluation is drawing to its completion, it seems that several diverse
questions are popping to the surface. Excuse me for bombarding you with this at
this late date, but an answer to each of these is required for me to complete my
evaluation within the deadlines.
Does MSA forsee the structure of their packages becoming more uniform and
In what timeframe? For example, each of our systems have their
documentation manuals laid out differently, Purchasing has ability to set
security online, Manufacturing uses Easy Screen to create new menus,
Purchasing can change its screens' literals online. etc.
In how many other locations, and where, will a configuration such as ours -
Purchasing and Manufacturing using IDMS/DC - be found? We need to know if
we are one of a kind. And, if not, other users we can confer with.
Can we receive a source copy of the Data Communications Interface (DCI)
software. I expect that a review of this code by our systems programmers
and security specialists will be required before the system can be moved
Into an Agency computer. Is there any source code that we will not be
allowed to review?
The Purchasing system continues to have problems. What can I say to my
management that MSA is planning to do to solve its problems? What about
the Atlanta task force? What about bringing in technical support?
I expect there may be more questions of this sort over the next couple of weeks.
