FOhi IGN BROADCAST INFORMATION SERVICE
P. O. Box 2604
Washington, D. C. 20013
23 October 1987
The Honorable Deane Hinton
United States Ambassador
to Costa Rica
Dear Mr. Ambassador:
Your visit to our new FBIS Reston Headquarters last Friday
emphasizes the value of direct talks on projects of mutual concern.
Given the operational difficulties facing our Panama Bureau, briefing
you was crucial to our pursuing alternate coverage of Central America.
We will keep you fully informed as Chief of Operations develops the
proposals he outlined to you. If you have the opportunity to visit
Panama, we ask that you visit our FBIS field operation there.
Faced with a full calendar myself, I can appreciate what a
compliment it is for us that you took time from your heavy schedule to
come to our offices. Our thanks also go to Brian Dickson for his help
in coordinating your visit. The FBIS officers who had the pleasure of
talking with you join me in congratulating you on your prospective
confirmation. We wish you a successful posting.
Sincerely,
