Dear Don,
Glad to hear that presentation went over so well.
While it is a little hard to believe that the group was "transfixed,"
be that as it may, he enjoyed the trip and told me he had a great
time. I am glad that we were able to send him your way for the
reunion.
You ask whether we would be able to send someone to next year's
get-together if it were to be held in Reno. The answer is "not
likely." We were able this year to add your meeting to Bob's
schedule because he had other business in the San Francisco area.
But while there is a lot of business going on in Reno, it is
probably more monkey business than government business. Rest
assured we will do what we can in any future gathering, but chances
are the usual thing will be a newsletter rather than a personal
presentation.
Best regards to you and Hazel and here's to next year's reunion!
Sincerely,

Hi Paul:
Well, the St S Tees Reunion is now history
and we all feel that really was instrumental in
making it another wonderful evening. Although the
attendance this year was down somewhat from last year--71
versus 95--everyone who participated agreed that because of
Bob's presentation, it was one of our best evenings thus
far.
As you can well imagine, it is nearly impossible to spend
much time with anyone or a group when there are that many
persons involved but, after some initial introductions, I
think Bob was caught up in the camaraderie and warmth of the
evening. I'm sure he has already briefed you.
I was disappointed that the Santa Rosa turnout was less than
usual. For that reason and because of difficulties in
getting to Santa Rosa from San Francisco, we are considering
other locations for the 9th reunion. Your suggestions to
that end are most welcome. Several of the attendees
suggested Reno and Hazel and I will check there on a planned
trip in early November. In talking with my neighbor who is
a Reno tour guide, I have learned that some of the larger
motels or casinos will provide hefty discounts for lodging,
meals, and in some cases transportation for groups of 100 or
so.
The thought does cross my mind that FBIS may not be able to
arrange for Bob to transfix the group as he did in Santa
Rosa if it is, in fact, held in Reno! Would that be a valid
concern?
Thanks for all your efforts in behalf of the retirees. I'm
sure you know how much they are appreciated. Please also
convey to Bob from all of us our heartfelt thanks for his
outstanding performance. To echo what I told the group at
the conclusion of his program; It's nice to know that FBIS
engineering support is in such capable hands.
As soon as the date and location of our 9th get-to-gether is
firm, I'll let you know. Hazel and I send along warm
regards to you and the family. Please also convey my
regards to anyone there at headquarters who may still
remember me. I have a feeling there aren't too many left.
It's been 14 years!
Sincerely,
