MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director for Administration

SUBJECT: Weekly Report
1. The Director of Communications participated in the eighth
meeting of the National Security Telecommunications Advisory
Committee (NSTAC) which was held at the Kennedy Space Center on
5-6 November. Dr. Graham, the President's Advisor and Director of
the Office of Science and Technology Policy, substituted for
Mr. Carlucci as the President's representative at the business
session on Friday. NSTAC, which is comprised of the country's
most senior communications officers from the private sector,
invite members of the National Communications System, Committee of
Principals, to meet with them at these regularly scheduled
meetings.
2. On 4 and 5 November, Office of Communications
representatives attended the Fall '87 Symposium of the Security
Affairs Support Association (SASA) held at the Defense
Intelligence Agency Headquarters. SASA's President is
John McMahon (former DDCI), and its board includes such notables
as General Morrison (former DC/IC Staff), Evan Hineman (DDSCO,
Bob Kohler (former D/ODU), Jim Babcock (formerly with Defense
Department/C31 and, earlier, OC/Engineering Division), and
others. The symposium covered, at the SECRET level,
U.S. Government and industry concerns regarding National Security,
concentrating on industrial and personnel security.
