CIA Accomplishments since 1980
Since the beginning of this decade, CIA has improved its ability to
collect on and analyze a wide variety of issues in support of US
policymakers. Our collection efforts range from traditional clandestine and
open-source collection to highly sophisticated technical collection done with
the help of improved imagery and SIGINT systems. Our analysis over the past
years has become much more multidisciplinary to give policymakers a fuller
view of an issue, and the range of subjects addressed by our analysts has
particularly in the communications and ADP areas, however, we would not have
been able to improve our performance in collection and analysis.
