SUBJECT: Notification of IG/CI Meeting
1. Mr. James H. Geer, Acting Chairman of the IG/CI, has scheduled a
meeting on Wednesday, 9 September 1987, at 1500 hours in Room 4017 FBI
Headquarters. (U)
2. The agenda will include:
a. Discussion of the IG/CI contribution to the second biannual
report to the National Security Advisor on implementation of the
President's "Report to the Congress on the Nation's Counterintelligence
and Security Countermeasures Plans, Programs, and Capabilities," which is
due to the Chairman, SIG-I, on 15 October 1987.
b. Discussion of the IG/CI response to the SSCI direction that:
"The Committee directs the DCI with the Interagency Group on CI
to study ways to staff support and security positions at U.S.
missions in criteria countries. The report, together with
appropriate recommendations, should be submitted to both the
Senate and House Intelligence Committees by 1 March 1988.
If additional agenda items are decided upon, you will receive telephonic
notification.
3. The Acting Chairman has directed that we make every effort to hold the
attendance to principals only, and that a principal plus one should be the
maximum attendance from any member organization. Your cooperation would be
greatly appreciated.
