DCI/DDCI Assigned Tasks
ACIS answered an SSCI request to have regular access to the
Intelligence Community's library of monitoring studies.
NESA prepared background briefs for Rear Admiral Poindexter
on "Libyan Training of Foreign Terrorist/Subversive Groups" and
"Military Activity in the Ba'labakk Area."
NESA prepared memoranda on analytical aspects of hijacking
for DCI and provided update on terrorist targets in Lebanon for
DDCI.
NESA prepared talking points on Libyan activities worldwide
for Gen. Vessey.
Of Special Interest This Week
ACIS briefed the Vice President on SS-20 numbers and
compliance issues.
EURA briefed outgoing Ambassador to France, Joe Rogers, on
the current political and economic situation in France.
NESA briefed Deputy NSC Advisor on Africa, Helen Soos, and
White House Staff on Sudan.
NESA briefed Rod McDaniel of the White House Crisis
Management Staff on Iran-Iraq.
NESA briefed Directors of EM-IM Bank on developments in
Iraq .

OSWR briefed the Chief of Naval Operations' Executive Panel
on the Soviet's use of
space platforms.
OSWR briefed General Milligan, US Marine Corps, Combat
Developments, on Soviet fuel-air explosive weapons and other
artillery developments.
OSWR met with the House Science and Technology Committee's
Task Force on Biotechnology 25X1
OSWR briefed Dr. Cooper, Director of DARPA, and staff on
Soviet IR sensor threat.
SOVA provided briefings to the State Department officials
preparing for bilate ral US-Soviet talks on Afghanistan.
Looking Ahead
EURA will sponsor its ninth economic seminar. Ted Eck,
Chief Economist, Standard Oil Company, will be the guest speaker.
OGI will brief SSCI staffers on
25X6 terrorism in Europe and the Middle East.
OSWR will brief the President's Commission on Space on
future worldwide space programs.
