I appreciate having the opportunity of speaking with yo~t about the plans for
the visit of Mr. Gates to the Woodrow Wilson School on Tuesday, September 29.
We are extremely pleased that he will give a public lecture at 4:30 pm and
following the lecture meet for dinner and discussion with the policy conference
directed by Professor Henry Bienen.
As I told you, we are now planning the publicity for his talk and look forward
to receiving from you as soon as possible a glossy photograph of Mr. Gates and
his biography. We will begin preparation of the press release and include the
title of his talk "The CIA and American Foreign Policy" which you were kind
enough to phone in to me. I or the School's communication director, Michael
Stoner, will send you a draft of the press release.
I am sending along with this letter a map of the campus marked in red to show
the Woodrow Wilson School, Prospect, the faculty club where dinner will be
held, and Palmer House where we have reserved overnight accomodations if Mr.
Gates spends the night in Princeton. I also am enclosing a diagram of the
lobby level of the Woodrow Wilson School where Dodds Auditorium is located, the
place where the public lecture is scheduled. Dodds Auditorium holds 198 people
and given the interest in Mr. Gates and the topic, we a,lticipate that it will
be filled. Professor Bienen will introduce Mr. Gates.
Closer to the data, I will send you information about the guests who are
attending the dinner and other details you would find helpful.
Again, my warm thanks for your interest and help. I lock forward to working
with you on this important visit for the School.
Sincerely,
Ingrid. Reed
