Gates to speak at the National War College on Wednesday morning, 10 December, at Arnold Auditorium, Ft. McNair. You have requested that the Deputy Director be at the main entrance at 0810. According to Admiral Addams' letter, the speech is to cover the relationships between the Intelligence Community and national security policymakers. The suggested format is 30 minutes of remarks followed by a 15 minute coffee break and then a 45 minute Question and Answer period. Adjournment is scheduled for 1000. A microphone and podium will be available. We would appreciate your taping the speech for our historical records. Per our conversation, all students are cleared for TOP SECRET information and all remarks are held in the strictest confidence. As you have agreed, foreign nationals attending the University will not be allowed to attend the session. Please send biographic material on those individuals that Dr. Gates will be meeting and any other pertinent information on arrangements.
