This is to confirm the arrangements for CIA Deputy Director
Robert M. Gates address to the Y Group on Tuesday, 6 May, 6:45 -
7:30 p.m. at the Westin Hotel, Washington, D.C.
According to our conversation, this is an off-the-record meeting
with 60 senior executive officers of U.S. corporations. The
suggested format is 20 - 25 minutes of remarks followed by 20 - 25
minutes of Questions and Answers. Mr. Gates is unable to stay for
dinner. It is our understanding that neither members of the press
nor foreign nationals will be present during the off-the-record
meeting. Also, although it is our policy to tape Mr. Gate's remarks
for his own protection, we are willing to negotiate on this point.
