SUBJECT: Office of Security Significant Activities
Week of 11 - 18 February 1987
1. This memorandum is for information only.
2. The activities of the Office of Security (OS) during
the week of 11 - 18 February 1987 were highlighted by the
following items:
*a. On 11 February, an OS representative provided the
D/OCA and his staff with a "dry run" of the Security Awareness
Briefing prepared for new members of the SSCI and HPSCI.
Subsequent discussions resulted in the D/OCA requesting that a
similar briefing be provided to members of the new
Congressional Select Committees investigating the Iran/Contra
situation. OCA will establish the actual dates and locations

*c. OS personnel conducted physical security surveys of
proposed SCIF locations at the White House Situation Room,
Executive Office Building, and the Bureau of Standards. An
additional survey was conducted at OPM, relat storing

f. On 13 February, OS representatives met with C/FMD/OL
to discuss items of mutual interest including: continued
coordination during snow emergencies, numerous parking
violations occurring on Headquarters Northeast Road, and
arrangements for the location of a trailer at the North loading
25X1 dock to be utilized by OS Escort service personnel.

2. On 13 February, representatives of HSD met with
C/FMD/OL to discuss items of mutual interest such as commitment
to continue to work closely during snow emergencies, the
numerous parking violations occurring along the Northeast Road
at Headquarters, and arrangements for placing a trailer at the
North Loading Dock to be used by Escort Service personnel.
3. During the reporting period Domestic Security Personnel
conducted physical security surveys of proposed SCIFS in the
White House Situation Room, the Executive Office Building and
at the Bureau of Standards. A survey was also conducted at the
Office of Personnel Management relative to storing SECRET
collateral material.

11 - 17 February 1987
1. On 11 Feb 87, C/SES provided the Director/Office of
Congressional Affairs (D/OCA) and his immediate staff with a
"dry run" presentation of the Security Awareness Briefing
prepared for new members of the SSCI and HPSCI. Subsequent
discussions revealed that D/OCA would also like the same basic
briefing provided to members of new Congressional Select
Committees investigating the Iran/Contra situation. OCA will

2. On 13 Feb, the Security Officers Training Program
25X1 concluded and the Trainin Course with 14
25X1 students in attendance began on 17 Feb.
3. On 13 Feb, as part of the ongoing Security Issues
Briefing Program, a Polygraph Division s okesman briefed FBIS
