SUBJECT: Office of Security Significant Activities
Week of 1 - 8 April 1987
1. This memorandum is for information only.
2. The activities of the Office of Security (OS) during
the week of 1 - 8 April 1987 were highlighted by the following

*b. On 8 April, OS representatives from the Information
Systems Security Division met at the Interagency Training
Center (ITC) with State Department personnel for discussions
regarding computer security. OS provided input on current
responsibilities, projects, and requirements. State Department
personnel provided an overview of their organization, mission,
and computer security issues. This first off-site meeting was
mutually beneficial and was deemed a success based on the
exchange of information. A future meeting will be scheduled in
six months.

f. OS personnel met with the Operations Officer, Federal
Highway Administration, located in offices adjacent to the
Headquarters Compound. The purpose of this meeting was for OS
to provide information concerning a planned 27 April
demonstration outside the Headquarters Compound by a group
seeking "peace in Central America and South Africa."
g. Two OS representatives organized and conducted a
two-week seminar on personnel security programs and procedures
h. On 2 April, OS representatives briefed Frances A.
Sclafani, OPM Associate Director Training & Investigations, on
the CIA Security Awareness Program and the Security Officer
training programs. The briefings were conducted at the request
of Ms. Sclafani to assist her in developing similar programs at
OPM.
