The Chairman of the Computer Security Subcommittee reported
the following actions completed or near completion by the Subcommittee
since the SECOM meeting of 30 June 1970:
a. Proposed Director of Central Intelligence
Directive 1/16, "Minimum Security
Requirements for Compartmented Operation
of Remotely Accessed Resource-Sharing
Computer Systems in a Controlled Top Secret
Environment".
b. Computer Security Guidelines for Security
Test and Evaluation of Resource-Sharing
Computer Systems for the Security Committee
and the Intelligence Information Handling
Committee.
c. Security Threat Analysis of Computer Operations.

The SECOM Chairman commended the Subcommittee for its
continued hard work during the summer vacation period and said
that he was especially impressed with the Subcommittee's paper
on the analysis of the security threat posed by the possibility of
hostile exploitation of weak points in the computer operations of the
intelligence community.
